This traditional clam basket is based on one used by Foster Baker of Clam Harbour. After the clams are dug and placed in the basket they can be dipped in seawater to clean them off. The gaps between the wooden slats allow the water to swirl in and out as the basket is dipped up and down. A useful container for holding all kinds of things.
