“Out of Old Nova Scotia Kitchens” Concert & Heritage Dinner
An evening of traditional songs with singer, songwriter and folklorist, Clary Croft. Concert from 5:30 to 6:30 in the historic church onsite at Memory Lane Heritage Village, followed by a dinner at 7:00 PM of traditional Nova Scotian recipes from the bestselling cookbook “Out of Old Nova Scotia Kitchens” by Marie Nightingale. Dinner by reservation only. Cash bar opens at 6:30.

12th Annual Antique Car Show is On

A Father’s Day outing the whole family will love. Enjoy a wide range of vehicles on display throughout the Heritage Village grounds. Special Father’s Day draws and live music in the Clam Factory. Plus kids can challenge Dad to a Kub Kar race after they have made their own in the Boatshop. Snacks and a variety of Cookhouse meals available on site.

Dominion Day “Old Time” Village Fair

A festive day celebrating the coastal villages in the Lake Charlotte area. Come see dozens of remote controlled model boats in action on the Dufferin Pond. Enjoy a free freshly made donut from our vintage Belshaw Donut Robot, then work off the extra calories with some traditional 1940s games and races with the kids, or try panning for gold.

A Variety Show with a difference! We'll have a wartime sing-along, poetry from local poet Burns Marks, a men's chorus with WWII patriotic music, historical readings and some theatrics. This is a kick-off to our weekend with Women’s Heritage Celebration.

Women’s Heritage Celebration

This annual celebration of women’s work in the home and community will celebrate the art of quilting as an example of recycling and reuse during the 1940s. Create your own quilt block from fabrics on hand, and watch as your block becomes part of the greater community quilt we will construct over the weekend. Visit the homestead to make pickles, knead bread, or taste rhubarb jelly. Kids will love cranking the rollers when we wash laundry. Check our website for a complete schedule of demonstrations, Sunday Tea Social and Ecumenical Church Service. An event for the whole family.

Titanic 100th Anniversary Heritage Dinner

A Heritage Dinner commemorating the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the R.M.S Titanic on April 15th, 1912. Menu will feature a selection of dishes from the dinners served on the fateful maiden voyage. Dinner by reservation only.

9th Annual Atlantic Canada Harmonica Festival

Spend the day with musicians who love this unique and versatile instrument. If you have ever thought about playing the harmonica, this is the place to start. If you played in the past and it’s now gathering dust, we’ll inspire you to start again. And if you’re a regular player, you’ll be happy to jam or share a tune with other professional and amateur performers.
This is a relaxing and intimate festival, held on the grounds and inside the Heritage Village historic buildings.
The festival ends with a two hour showcase concert featuring harmonica players from all musical genres, from the Isle of Skye to the Mississippi Delta.

WWII Encampment and Veteran’s Memorial Service
Memory Lane hosts the Atlantic Canadian World War Two Living History Association for a two day encampment on the Heritage Village grounds. Dedicated to the authentic portrayal of the soldiers, sailors, air force personnel, and civilians of World War II. The members, in period uniforms, will set up an encampment over the weekend and participate in a Veteran’s Memorial Service and flag raising on Sunday at 1:00 PM.

To commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II we will host a tea social in honour of the Queen's service to her family, community and country during WW2 and her ongoing commitment to honouring those who have served their country through military service. The tea will follow the veteran’s memorial service at 1:00 PM.

Musique Royale Concert & Dinner
Back by popular demand, a Musique Royale Concert in the historic Memory Lane church, followed by a lamplit dinner in the Cookhouse will feature classical music and classic dishes inspired by the musical repertoire (TBA). Reservations must be made by the Thursday before the concert.
Musique Royale, now in its 27th season, is cross-province festival that brings performances of early and traditional music to settings of historic and cultural significance in communities throughout Nova Scotia. ]
We will have great overnight packages available, check our gift shop closer to the date for details and to order tickets.

Oktoberfest Heritage Dinner
One of our most popular dinners. Authentic Oktoberfest food, beer, live music, and Oktoberfest spirit. Reservations must be made by the Thursday before the dinner. In support of the Lake Charlotte Area Heritage Society. Cash bar opens at 6:30.

Traditional 1940s Christmas Dinner
Our most popular dinner, held by lamplight in the Cookhouse which is “decked out” in 1940s fashion. We will serve a dinner both on Saturday and Sunday evening. Musical entertainment prior to the dinners TBA. Tickets to the dinner must be paid for when you make your reservation. You can purchase your tickets here, at our online gift shop. No refunds available. Tickets will not go on sale until after Jan. 1, 2012. Book early to avoid dissapointment.
