Tour Memory Lane Heritage Village on your own, then step into our Genealogy and Archives Research Centre for a private consultation on your family tree. Our genealogists can help you locate your relatives if you are descended from families that settled along the Eastern Shore. Your consultation includes access to archival records, microfilm, church records, searchable databases and the knowledge of a resident genealogist. We can help you locate cemeteries, old homesteads, and land grants in the area. This package also includes our famous Cookhouse Chow, a 10% discount on our line of published genealogies and transcriptions, and a 10% discount on local accommodation.

Tour Memory Lane Heritage Village on your own, then spend two hours with a local fisherman in Memory Lane’s fish store learning how to construct a traditional lobster trap. Your fisherman guide will show you how to knit a “heading”, bend the bows, weight the trap and install the bait spike. While constructing the trap, hear the stories of struggles and triumphs on the sea, and how modern fishing has improved upon traditional gear.

All that work should create an appetite for our famous and sizable “Cookhouse Chow” in the 1940s Cookhouse on site. Spend the rest of the day touring the local area, and see the still working fishing communities and wharves of East Jeddore, Owls Head and Little Harbour. Enjoy a 10% discount on local accommodation as part of this package.
