Soundscape Displays

Many of our visitors enjoy touring the Village at their own pace, exploring the buildings quietly on their own. Our detailed Visitor Guide will assist you with your self-guided tour. In most of the buildings you will find an interpretive panel and “Soundscape Display”.

Press the button on the display to hear a local person describing how the building was used and its purpose in the community. For example in the school house, a teacher who taught in that school house describes what her day was like and how she managed nine grades in one room!

The soundscape narratives are also available for purchase on a single CD from our Gift Shop.
